Considerations for purchasing pneumatic motors
Pneumatic motors are generally divided into vane type, piston type, gear type and other types. Power, rotation speed and gas consumption are also large and small. So what matters should we consider when purchasing pneumatic motors?
I. Power and speed
The power of the pneumatic motor is in the range of 0.3-10KW. The rotation speed is in the range of 3000-10000rpm. Vane-type pneumatic motor has low rotating speed and high power, but its service life is not as good as that of piston-type pneumatic motor. It is recommended that the rotating range be between 0.3 and 1. Piston pneumatic motor is characterized by low speed and high torque. After equipped with reducer, the horsepower is relatively large. It is recommended that the rotation range be between 0.2 and 1.
II. Gas supply
The pneumatic motor needs to compress the air and then convert the internal energy of the air into mechanical energy. Therefore, the air entering the pneumatic motor must be clean and dry, otherwise it will damage the pneumatic motor. Therefore, air filters need to be installed at air inlet of the motor to filter out impurities, dust, moisture, etc. in the air. The air supply pipe valve of the motor needs to be large enough to maintain the air supply pressure at 6-7bar, and insufficient pressure will lead to the power reduction of the pneumatic motor. If you need to adjust the air flow, you need to install a flow regulating valve on the air circuit pipe to adjust the air flow by flow valve, so that the air flow can be controlled and the rotation speed can be adjusted.
III. Silencer
Pneumatic motors have a disadvantage in that the noise is too large, including mechanical noise and exhaust noise, so they are generally equipped with silencers. In order to achieve a good noise reduction effect, it is generally necessary to connect a hose to a larger muffler, which has enough area to reduce the air outflow speed as much as possible.
